The facility provided by the Friends of the Beatson is like a five star hotel but, unlike some five star hotels, it is a place where you can relax. It gives patients a calm and relaxed place to meet fellow patients and helps to take our minds off of our own troubles.

Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre

Until late 2007, the Beatson was based on two principal sites in Glasgow - one at the Western Infirmary, the second at Gartnavel General Hospital - and at other sites, including Stobhill Hospital and Glasgow Royal Infirmary. It is now based on one site - the new state-of-the-art Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre at Gartnavel.

The new centre has total floor space extending to approximately 22,500 square metres, and accommodates 173 in-patient beds for oncology, haemato-oncology, bone marrow transplant and brachytherapy. There are CT and MRI imaging, CT and conventional simulators, clinical research and trials units, outpatient consulting suites and a range of support services, including Radiotherapy Physics, Pharmacy, medical records and education.
