Jenna Burns, daughter of Tommy Burns ,said:

"After countless numbers of people have worked so hard to raise such a great deal of money for skin cancer, we are extremely proud to present this cheque to Friends of the Beatson. The work that they do is unparalleled in Scotland and we cannot think of anyone more deserving."

"We all hope that they can continue the great work they are doing and that the funds raised go some way towards helping them improve the lives of cancer sufferers in Scotland."

Ian Dickson, Chairman of Friends of the Beatson commented:

"We are extremely grateful that the Tommy Burns Skin Cancer Trust has chosen to present us with such a sizeable donation. The loss of Tommy Burns affected many football fans in general and all Celtic fans and this cheque will go a long way in supporting others who are suffering."

"The cheque will be presented formally by Tommy Burns' family at tomorrow night's Friends of the Beatson Annual Sporting Dinner being held at The Glasgow Hilton where the total funds raised by Friends of the Beatson, will top £2million."
